Your files stay on your Mac.

The short version

This policy covers the DiskPress macOS application and diskpress.app, provided by Ighor July. It does not describe the independent practices of Apple, your cloud-storage provider, or an AI agent you choose to use.

The DiskPress application

DiskPress processes supported files locally on your Mac. It does not require an internet connection for compression, deduplication, measurements, or monitoring. The app does not include analytics or telemetry and does not send your files or optimization activity to the developer.

Information stored locally

To do its work, DiskPress stores settings, saved locations, security-scoped permission bookmarks, file metadata and hashes used for optimization, savings measurements, recent savings history, Activity records, and recovery records in its local app storage. Activity and recovery records can contain paths and filenames. These are functional records on your Mac, not analytics sent to a server.

You can manage saved locations and Authorized Paths in the app and clear the retained Activity list. Recent savings are stored separately from Activity. Do not delete recovery records or temporary recovery files while an operation or unresolved recovery is in progress.

CLI and third-party automation

The CLI communicates locally with DiskPress. Its output may include paths, filenames, settings, measurements, and per-file results. If you pass that output to an AI agent, script, log service, or another program, that program controls what it stores or transmits. DiskPress does not provide an AI service or send information to one.

Links and system services

Choosing a website, App Store, or email link opens the service you selected. Apple may separately handle App Store transactions, updates, and optional system diagnostics under your Apple settings and its own policies. Those activities are not telemetry built into DiskPress.

Website analytics

diskpress.app uses Plausible Analytics through analytics.diskpress.app to understand aggregate website use and improve the site. Measurement includes pages visited, referral and campaign sources, browser and operating-system categories, device types, approximate location derived from the request, and clicks on outbound links.

Plausible does not use analytics cookies or persistent cross-site identifiers. Its analytics processing derives aggregate information from incoming requests and does not retain raw IP addresses in the analytics dataset. The website does not add advertising trackers or session-replay software.

Outbound-link events can include the destination URL, such as a Mac App Store or developer-site link. The site does not attach your local files, app Activity, or optimization results to analytics events. For details of Plausible's measurement design, read the Plausible data policy.

The analytics endpoint is distinct from the app. Visiting the website is not necessary for DiskPress to optimize your files.

Hosting and browser preferences

The website is delivered through Cloudflare. Serving and securing web requests involves technical information such as IP addresses, request URLs, browser information, routing data, and diagnostic logs. This hosting activity is separate from Plausible's aggregate analytics. Cloudflare explains its processing in its privacy policy.

If you change the appearance selector, the site saves the value in your browser's local storage under diskpress-appearance. It is used only to remember Light, Dark, or System on that browser. It is not an analytics identifier. Clear the site's browser data to remove it.

Hosting, analytics infrastructure, and email providers process information needed to provide their services. This policy does not promise a particular country of processing or a fixed provider log-retention period.

Support and Mac App Store purchases

If you email support@apptrust.app, the developer receives your email address, message, and anything you attach. This information is used to respond, troubleshoot, and maintain necessary support records. Share only what is needed and remove private paths or sensitive content from screenshots and logs.

Support messages are kept only as long as reasonably needed to handle the request, maintain necessary records, or meet legal obligations. You may ask for deletion, subject to those obligations. Information is not sold or used for targeted advertising.

Apple handles Mac App Store payments and downloads. DiskPress does not process your payment-card details. Apple's services are covered by the Apple privacy policy.

Your choices and privacy rights

You can use the app without an account or network connection, disable automatic monitoring, remove saved authorizations, avoid sending optional support information, and use browser controls or content blockers to limit website analytics. The website remains readable when analytics are blocked.

Depending on the law that applies to you, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of personal information held by the developer, and to complain to a relevant data-protection authority. Contact the address below to make a request. Aggregate analytics generally cannot be connected to a particular visitor, and the developer cannot access app records stored only on your Mac.

Where a legal basis is required, necessary hosting and security processing supports operating this website, support processing responds to your request, and records may be retained to meet legal obligations. No claim about cookie-free analytics removes rights that applicable law gives you.
